    Description

    Up for auction is a vintage promissory note between Ambrose Spencer and John Townsend that shows Ambrose borrowed fourteen hundred bucks from John.  Document is dated May 2, 1814 and I believe these guys were in New York, as the payback was to happen at the New York State Bank  Looks like both lender and borrower's signed back of note.  Paper has been hand stamped with a SEVENTY FIVE CENTS revenue stamp, that shows no state or place.  ... ............
