Description

This auction is for a Framed 1829 BRITISH APPRENTICE INDENTURE for JOHN RAY to become a BAKER.  This English document is dated May 29 of the 9th year of the reign of GEORGE IV, who was the King of England from 1820 - 1830.  This is a 2-sided document and frame, showing writing on both sides.  It measures about 10 1/4" x 8 3/4".
The apprentice is John Ray, and father Humphrey from the county of Buckingham.  The document was to show that John Ray was indentured to become a baker's apprentice to John Lattimer from the county of Northampton.
I have not opened the frame, but I suspect this is vellum.  The cost/tax of the document was 6 pence, and I believe the blue feature in the upper left is a tax stamp, with what appears to be a small amount of silver.  There are wax seals next to all the signatures in the lower right corner.
Condition is fair >> there is some soiling, folds, and fading.  Most of the writing is still legible, and with a magnifying glass it is readable.
A wonderful historical document regarding the training for this boy.
