Up for auction is a vintage folded stampless letter and cover combination that was mailed from Bedford, Pennsylvania and addressed to Samuel Barclay, Harrisburg, PA.  Letter is datelined Big Springs, Brdford County, PA., January 27, 1838.  Letter is of a political nature regarding a squabble over a petition.  Letter was from Jesse Slick.  Paper has numerous throughout the paper tears, some bad, so PAPER NEEDS TO BE HANDLED CAREFULLY TO PREVENT FURTHER TEARING!!!
