1839 "Tremont Despatch and United States Mail Coach" Way Bill (Stagecoach)

Description

December 3, 1839 stagecoach way bill of the Tremont Despatch and United States Mail Coach.  The way bill's heading states that it is from Boston and Lowell (MA) to Keene (NH) and Brattleboro (VT) (note the cool stagecoach graphics!).  Interestingly, on the front, it is marked for December 2, 1839, but on the inside, it is marked for Tuesday, December 3, 1839.  It appears that the coach carried two passenger, and the way bill also shows their origins and destinations, fare cost, receiving agent, and division of fares.  On the reverse, there is also a time bill (unmarked) and an extra baggage chart (also unmarked).  The way bill is in very good, clean condition, with just a bit of wear along the folds.
It is a rare item at over 180 years old.  It is a great piece ready to enhance any collection of U.S. stagecoach transportation.
