1840?? LETTER FROM A E WADE NYC TO MRS MARY ANN WRIGHT DUBUQUE IOWA TERRITORY

Up for auction is a vintage folded stampless letter and cover combination that was written at and mailed from New York City and addressed to Mrs Mary Ann Wright. care of LeRoy Jackson, Dubuque, Iowa Territory.  Letter is between sisters, written by A.E. Wade.  Comes with a transcription of the letter, courtesy of a previous owner.I would question how the transcriber got 1840 as the year the letter was written, as I couldn't find any year date at all.  Paper is missing about a third of the second lettersheet, has multiple tears, both foldline and interior and staining issues aplenty.  Paper needs to be handled carefully to prevent further tearing..
