  • Condition: Good with some creases, light brown stains and a couple tiny punctures at the center fold. The back has a written name. Measures 7 and 3/4 inches by 12 inches.

    Description

    This is a May 6th 1842 Londonderry NH public school district 9 document that is signed by the selectmen of the town.
    It is addressed to Edward P Whidden of the Prudential Committee for 1842, and states "You are hereby required to employ instructors qualified as the law directs and cause the amount of the following list to be applied in keeping a Public School in said district as the law directs".
    It is signed by Londonderry selectmen Daniel G Coburn, John N. Anderson, and Jonathan Humphrey.
    Below that is a list of several names and figures.
    The back has a handwritten name of Edward Whidden (see photo).
    It will be shipped folded in half sleeved in plastic, and protected with cardboard  in a padded envelope.
