    Howdy!
This auction is for one (1) beautiful & very limited privately minted piece, commemorating the Inauguration of Honorable Alejandro J. Garcia-Padilla, from the historic Southern PR town of Coamo, as 10th Governor to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (and 11th locally born PR governor), event which formaly took place on January 2, 2013. The obverse shows the face of Governor Garcia-Padilla, with an enameled Puerto Rican flag as background, his full name at the top, and the political name of PR "Commonwealth of Puerto Rico" at the bottom, separated both phrases by a "fleur de lis"(old symbol of Royal Spanish-French house of Bourbon government over the island) and the word "Governor" next to it. The reverse shows the PR coat of arms -oldest in the Americas still in use- flanked by 2 lions -again, another symbol of both Spanish sovereingnty -which once had real lions of the "Atlas" race, and of Juan Ponce de Leon (from a Spanish city which also means Lion) 1st governor of Puerto Rico. At the feet of each lion we find the letters "PRM" -Puerto Rico Mint- and "1/100" -total mintage-. Right next to the 1/100 we find the serial number of each medal, engraved in laser, from "1" to "100".  The medal, which measures 50mm or 2", and weights approximately 2 ounces, has 12 flat sides, being able to stand on its own. It is made of a bronze core with a Chromed Nickel finish with red & blue enamel.
