    ENGLISH:
    Howdy!
This auction is for one (1) Silver Dollar sized medal commemorating the opening of the Isabela Train History Museum, in 2014. This municipality is known for its  two old tunnels and a few bridges, along with a neat station through which the train passed. Its most widely known tunnel called Tunnel of Guajataka, which is located next to a beach area, between the towns of Quebradillas and Isabela, and which leads to another beach nearby, called El Pastillo. For many years after the train was gone, this tunnel served as part of a dance hall for latin music, reggaeton, and rock concerts, kind of a get together place for youngsters, which gave it notoriety amongst locals, including myself, who used to visit it frequently late at night on weekends, after going to the movies or hanging out with friends, while on my teen and early twenties... The place is now a historical focal point for tourists, as well as the museum.
    OBVERSE:
It is based on an old photo and features an Engine halted right out of the Guajataka Tunnel, with some guys performing maintenance on it. At the top it reads "Friends of the Isabela Train" which is an association that promotes saving this local historical heritage, at the Engine's left it shows the year "2014", and below the art it reads "(Tunnel of) Guajataca".
    REVERSE:
Also based on an old photograph, it features the old Isabela train station, made of stone and wood in 1906, with very ornate ceilings, kind of victorian era style. Around it are people passing by, with what appears to be some guys uploading a truck with freight taken off from the train wagon next to the station. On top of the image it reads "Ysabela Train Station", then below "1906" the year it was built. (In old Spanish all proper names beginning with a "i" would have a capital "Y" instead. Both letters carry the same sound, but this custom is no longer used in modern Spanish).
I believe this station was later substituted by a cement building by the American Rail Road Co, just a few years before the ARR train company got bankrupt, was acquired by the local government, closed, and its assets sold off to Venezuela and Colombia.
    CHARACTERISTICS:
This large medal, which is slighlty bigger than a Morgan Silver Dollar, and has smooth edge, measures 40mm x 5mm, has a weight of 1 ounce. It seems to be made of an alloy clad in chromed nickel finish, resulting in an astonishing shine. It has an almost "Proof - Like" quality uncirculated condition, and comes in its protective plastic capsule, which is not in the best of shapes, but is tough, and protects the medal from scratches. This medal was acquired from the "Museo del Tren de Isabela" museum, itself, who used sell it for a piece, so I am not making any gain on it, I only sell it to promote the museum, as my cost barely covers the shipping stamp.
