    Description

Antique Blue Japanese Uchikake Wedding Kimono
    w/ Embroidery
For your consideration is this antique blue Japanese wedding kimono with embroidered rice plants in gold.  This is such a dynamic contrast which, when displayed, will bring any room to life!  This uchikake dates back to the middle of the Meiji Era (1865 - 1912).  There are five paulownia mons which means it was more suitable for formal occasions.  The interior lining is a red crepe silk, and the exterior lining is a deep blue.  There are some minor thread pulls in the fabric, but overall, this kimono would be considered in excellent condition for its antique state.  (R898/2410

After being stationed in Japan in the military, Richard, our shop's founder, took an interest in fine Asian textiles.  They are now being offered to you in our eBay store and at our smoke-free kimono gallery located on Main Street in historic downtown Wabasha, Minnesota.  Stop in and see what we have to offer!
