Red & Multi-Color Hand Woven & Embroidered Chinantec Huipil Oaxaca Mexico Boho.
This is a Very Traditional Huipil from the Chinantec community woven in the area of Tlacoazintepec in northern Oaxaca. This particular Huipil is all Hand Woven and embroidered has buttons on the bodice.
The designs on this dress are very typical of the remote village of Tlacoazintepec. In some Mexican cultures birds are symbols of messengers or observers. And they bring information to the Spirits. This is a wonderful Huipil from a remote village, you will not be disappointed!!!
This cotton hupil will fit a Small and possibly a Medium. The Base fabric is a Red with the patterns done in red, yellow, blue and white fringe which is nicely distributed thou out the dress. Their are also pockets which is always a plus. The Fabric is loosely done at points to allow good ventilation, and in excellent preowned condition. It is a slightly faded but still beautiful. I have submitted pictures.
