COLUMBIA STS-73 Astronaut: AL SACCO AUTOGRAPH,HAND SIGNED8 X 10 COLUMBIA STS-73 COLOR LAUNCH PHOTO Signed by COLUMBIA STS-73 Astronaut: AL SACCO --NASA Photo #9802910: Onboard the Space Shuttle Columbia, STS-73 mission, in 1995, crewmember Dr. Albert Sacco Jr. loads crystals into the Zeolite Crystal Growth experiment. Sacco is director of the Center for Advanced Microgravity Materials Processing at Northeastern University in Boston. This NASA Commercial Space Center works with companies interested in using space to grow zeolite crystals. If scientists can learn more about the structures of zeolites, they may be able to improve the use of zeolites in petroleum processing and reduce the cost of fuel. This research is part of the Space Product Development Program managed at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. EXPERIENCE: Since 1977, Professor Sacco has been on the faculty at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He has split his time between research and teaching. He was appointed Department Head in July 1989. He has consulted for numerous companies in the fields of catalysis, solid/gas contacting, and equipment design for space applications. Also he, with his father (Al) and brother (Bernard), ran a family restaurant business in Boston for over 20 years. SPACE FLIGHT EXPERIENCE: Dr. Sacco flew as a payload specialist on STS-73, which launched on October 20, 1995, and landed at the Kennedy Space Center on November 5, 1995. The 16 day mission aboard Columbia focused on materials science, biotechnology, combustion science, and fluid physics contained within the pressurized Spacelab module +++++++++++++++++++++++Combining Lots between two auctions, I will be happy to combine two auctions To save you additional postage- Please pay for these lot/lots & postage.
