Elegant Spanish 915 Silver 3 Light Candelabra

Description

Presented is an elegant Spanish silver three light candelabra. This is a
modern piece, made within the past 40 years, although it is done in a much older
style. The base of the candelabra features four figural feet, in the form of
swans with their wings outspread. The shaft is adorned with a foliate design
around its lower third, and tapers up to the arms. The arms are done in a lovely
scroll form. The undersides of the bobeches or wax drips feature the same
foliate design as the shaft.
This underside of the base of the candelabra is stamped with A915 indicating
915 purity silver, a bell shaped mark which is probably a maker's mark, and Made
in Spain. There are two disks to which the central shaft is bolted, serving as
reinforcements, which are both stamped M. Plateado for silver plate. This only
applies to the two disks that are stamped as such, the rest of the piece is 915
purity silver, tested and guaranteed.
This piece is in great overall condition. One of the arms has a very slight
bend, such that the socle sits a little lower than the socle on the other side.
This is hard to notice without close, careful inspection. The underside of the
arm with the bend has a slight crimp, likely this resulted from someone forcing
a candle into the socle without stabilizing it with their other hand. Otherwise
there are no issues, no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram
removals, and no repairs.
The candelabra measures about 13 3/4 inches across the arms, and stands about
15 inches tall.
This piece weighs 1191 grams or 42 regular ounces.
