Esta subasta es por un (1) anillado conmemorando la inauguración en el 2014 del nuevo mantecadito de sabores tradicionales de Lares, que con mucho éxito ahora substituye la heladería de sabores de fama mundial que por varias décadas atrajo miles de turistas al centro de la isla, y cuya desaparición hacen 6 años dejó un enorme vacío en la economía local. Obviamente llamado "HELADERIA EL GRITO," este moderno negocio llegado para quedarse continúa y amplía con su "REVOLUCION DE SABORES" lo que ya es una tradición tan fuerte y necesaria en la región Lare
ña, como lo es su propia celebración nacional.
Su anverso lleva el nombre de la heladería arriba con su "slogan" debajo, separados por un vasito de mantecado y una barquilla. Su reverso conmemora la fecha de su primer aniversario, ABRIL 2015, y la localidad, separadas por dos banderas revolucionarias.
Estas piezas, los primeros anillados de Lares, vienen premiadas con error que pocos conocen, ya que el plan era que tuviesen centavos fechados 2014, cuando reabre el concepto de negocio. Sin embargo, el fabricante no hizo su tarea de prepararse a tiempo y sólo pudo conseguir unos pocos centavos de ese año (pues los 2015 no habían salido aún) con lo que la mayoría de estas piezas vienen con centavos 2013.
Esta rareza de pieza, sólo 100 hechas, se vendió originalmente a en Lares y luego revendieron a en Plaza las Américas. Tuve la suerte de obtener el remanente de la tirada, que aquí traigo para beneficio de Lare
ños Ausentes y público coleccionista general. Mi precio es un regalo, !mas barato de lo que se revendió en la isla! donde ya no la hay para la venta.

This auction is for one (1) encased Penny, the first of its type for this little, yet highly historical town right in the center of Puerto Rico, commemorating the 1st anniversary of the reopening of the internationally renown local tradition of making Ice Cream, not only in all sorts of Tropical Fruit flavors, but in all sorts of Vegetable and Legume flavors as well, which brings thousands of tourists from abroad into Puerto Rico, with savoring these rare flavors in mind.
The original concept, which served well this historical town
for almost 3 decades
(legendary for its failed but highly significant 1868 revolt against the Spanish colonial government, which actually forced it for reforms) had stopped suddenly when its owner and master confectioner died, almost taking his rare art with him to the grave.
For a long 6 years of absence the whole town watched in despair how, outside its seasonal festivals, the rest of the local economy downsized, until his local tourism director, a keen and business savvy person, aware of the situation and tired of waiting for others to bring back this tradition being lost, took matters into his own hand, invested his life savings, and brought the weird flavored ice creams back to life, fast and furious, with almost miraculously positive results.
Such better than expected results were they he commissioned this beautiful retro piece, another tradition being lost, in order to celebrate a successful first year of sweet success. These sold out pieces, of which only 100 were made, had been intended to carry 2014 pennies, but as the manufacturer ran out of the few he had, most of the encasements ended up carrying 2013 pennies instead. These were originally sold for at the locality, many bought by collectors to resell them at at the 2015 local  numismatic show. Thru a mix of connections and luck I was able to purchase the remaining original pieces left in Lares, so you can now own one, for less than what they got sold for at the numismatic show!

Debido a que las medallas vienen con alguna que otra imperfección de fábrica, es normal que una medalla contenga algún rayacito o cantacito mínimo de lo cual no somos responsables. Las antiguedades que vendemos tienen imperfecciones por vejez, uso y desgaste, que pudieran no reflejarse en las fotos.
