Malcolm Scott Carpenter [1925 2013] was an American naval officer, aviator, test pilot, and aeronautical engineer who was selected as one of the original seven astronauts for NASA's Project Mercury in 1959. Carpenter flew on the Mercury-Atlas 7 on May 24, 1962, and spent 4 hours and 56 minutes in space. Listed for auction is the autograph of Scott Carpenter signed on a page. The autograph is early example [he signed with the letter ''M'' for his first name which he later discontinued] signed ''Good Luck M. Scott Carpenter'' in black fountain pen. The page measures 3.00 x 5.00 inches, it has trivial toning otherwise it is in fine condition and ideal for display. The autograph is authentic and is part of a astronaut collection that was collected in the early to late 1960's.
