    Description

    Unusual small towel that depicts women in a Japanese bath house at a hot spring.
    This was purchased at an estate auction in Northern Florida. It is part of an extensive textile collection that belonged to a diplomat who lived in Japan for many years in the 1950s and then the Ivory Coast in the 1960s. The quantity and quality of fabrics and accessories is one not often seen outside of Japan. Everything in the collection from Japan dates from 1960s or earlier.
    I am by no means an expert in Japanese fabric and clothing. I have done my best to describe and identify the items. I have reached out to people with more knowledge than me when possible. That being said please do not replace my identification with your own research and knowledge.
